The Dutch comic book writer Joost Swarte,[1] born in 1946, conceived Inara the Jungle Girl in 1989 for the Dutch comics publisher Egmont. He was surprised at the success of the series, which was airbrushed out of the manga Intaras \"Universe\" (1991), the biggest success to date in Egmont's female-dominated series history. He took some time off from comics before returning to the jungle-adventure genre with a French adaptation of his Inara the Jungle Girl series titled Inara the Jungle Girl (19921995) drawn by David Lafargue, creator of \"Una Historia de Amorosas\". As well as staying true to the original story, Lafargue added to the characters and made Inara more capable of surviving in the wild with her new capability as a huntress.
The debut issue of Inara the Jungle Girl saw a \"Heroine\" named Inara, a princess who wanted to escape from her position of privilege for a life in the jungle as a representative of the natives. With help from a friend, the two head off into the jungle to find a lost tribe who together will take her back to the city where her father awaits.
By the time the series had reached its 14th issue, Inara had become a formidable fighter with a bandolier of arrows, survival skills, and a penchant for western garb. The first woman to become the unofficial supreme leader of the island, she rules over her nation - until she catches sight of a group of teenage rebels who had somehow eluded her guardian bodyguards.
An adult Inara awakes and learns of events in her life from a dream. She discovers that she is an adult prisoner of hair in a city called Harikari. She escapes and meets other jungle girls and jungle men in an underground city called Wirinda. They teach her of a jungle woman named Ursa Jilana who claims to be the \"First Queen of the Jungle\". She teaches Inara the ways of the jungle and how to survive the jungle, but also sends Inara on her first mission into the jungle.
Baron Rudi von Richthofen heard a rumor that the island of N'iah and its women were at war. He decided to investigate the island with an expedition to see if he could profit from such a war. On the way, they are attacked by a tribe of barbarians. d2c66b5586
