Mr Client 2.1-2.3 required the win32/shell32.dll library; unlike in Win98 and 2k/2xp that it was burned into the OS. But Microsoft removed the library in Win98SE and 2k3, and would not stand for the other OS to have a (health) problem like this - and decidedly did not want to fix anything else. So MrClient became incompatible. It had to be removed completely, except for the new versions where the 'old' client was used.
The "support" channel was used to get a (dev) response since the release of RAD MrClient (where the patches too were used), and again in Jul. 2011. The official way to get this issue resolved/fixed which is a difficult task, would be to convince Microsoft to re-include the shell32 library in WinCE. d2c66b5586
