Playlist files can be found at major websites or through online services.
Windows Media Player has a Media Types preferences menu in which you can specify which formats you want to play back. PLS, WAV, AIF, WMA, MP3, MPA, and ASF are just a few of the formats that you can play back if your version of Windows Media Player is up-to-date (see the Windows section above).
Note that you can also play MPEG-4 video files and Flash files if you have the appropriate codecs (see the Windows section above), but you need to download those codecs from your preferred video or download website if you want to play back your favorite video format.
If you're having trouble finding an audio format that you can play, try listening to the track first.
Listen to your favorite songs and then download a specific format that you can play. Alternatively, you can upload your song to a streaming website and listen to it there. This might be a better option than streaming when you're very time-pressed.
You may have to try different file formats to find one that your media player can play, so try a few different formats.
Windows Media Player uses the OpenNET.dll library to play files. You may find other files may use different OpenNET.dlls. Learn More.
In short, I was about to buy an iPhone and totally forget about Macs. I have a macbook. Fortunately, it's a macbook pro with no optical drive, but because of that I can't use it for video. I decided to go with the iPhone.
I can't find a player that will play the playlist file (mspls) for shoutcast. I used Apple's Media Player before, but when I opened up the pls file I chose it wouldn't play. They site says Apple's player can handle it 0b46394aab
